Meet up with Steve Williams as we set up the camp last night. Once he heard about our trip and fundraiser, he immediately offered to get us to the ferry for this morning after feeding us breakfast at his camper. We took him up on the generous offer and had a great meal before packing up and leaving camp. We also met a fellow traveller, albeit doing a bike tour, from Holland. His name was John Dewitt and he biked from Buffalo, NY, to St. John's in one month. Both gentlemen signed the canoe this morning! Steve got us to the ferry with plenty of time to spare. Thanks again Steve for all the help and the hospitality!
While waiting in the lobby at the ferry terminal, I (Jeff) started talking to the gentleman beside me, Donald Barnes. It turned out he is the VP of customer experience for Marine Atlantic, the ferry company that runs the service between Argentia and Sydney. He was traveling with his wife to Toronto. Marine Atlantic and Donald have been awesome to Frank and I - thanks for everything Donald! We appreciate it very much!
